Available now, exclusively from the Artist at www.burningdervish.com and on all digital platforms on, October 20, 2023 via Somewhat Sirius Music, ‘Return of a Specter’ gives sonic expression to the history and mystery of the non-human entities that have haunted the mythology, folklore, cosmology, dreams and anxieties of cultures around the world, for millennia.

What is a specter? A ghost? A spirt? A fairy? An angel? A leprechaun? A sprite? Are these all names for the same entity? Who is the little green man with the pointy ears? Why have he and his compatriots appeared throughout humanity’s development and traditions, our global religious and spiritual texts, our mystery schools since time immemorial? Why is our popular culture so preoccupied with these beings? What are they trying to tell us?

A shared lifelong interest in these questions, in their metaphysical and sociological implications, has led Burning Dervish to ponder how sound and music might be used to conjure and communicate with these visitors, (or are they co-inhabitants?). Any results derived from this trans-reality aural experiment will be made available for all to witness in due time.
